It’s Time to Take the Limits Off of God
Why do we limit the power of God within us? Do we feel that God is slack concerning His promises? Maybe the problem is that we don’t see ourselves the way God sees us. We have to remember that He doesn’t call us according to the current state that we’re in, but we’re called based upon who we were created to be.
It has been said that aerodynamically the bumblebee shouldn't be able to fly; but the bumblebee doesn't know that, so it flies anyway. I submit this to you, just as the bumblebee flies without limits, so should you live. There are many obstacles and limitations that try to hinder our progress, such as low self-esteem, discouragement, emotional and mental pain, unforgiveness, sickness and lack of faith. We must remember, however, that we’ve been fashioned in God’s image.
Can you believe that He drew us out of Himself? Amazing, isn’t it? As our source, God is not limited, and through His power, neither are we.
I can speak from personal experience in this area. There have been times in my life when I’ve had to trust God when it didn’t make sense. In my earlier years as an evangelist, I was attending a National Youth Convention in Texas on a Saturday night. My funds were limited and I actually was there on faith. When the offering was taken I was sitting on the podium and we were challenged to give all of the cash we had on us. I had $100 to my name. As I stood there, I struggled with trusting God to provide a harvest if I sowed my seed. I kept feeling the nudge to move and trust God, give my offering, and watch Him work. I finally went in my purse, grabbed the $100 and practically threw it in the offering plate. On my way back to my seat without a dime to my name – but feeling relieved that I obeyed God – a prominent pastor from Texas stopped me and asked, “Are you preaching anywhere next week?” When I told him that I wasn’t, he said, “I would like to fly you to my city on Monday to preach a five day revival!”
That revival wasn't just a blessing, it was a miracle to me. I learned then that if you take the limits off of God and watch Him work, you will see His glory.
So, stop settling and dream big! Step out on faith and take God at His word. The Bible declares in Ephesians 3:20 that He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we can ask or think, according to the power that works in us. My brothers and sisters, go ahead and move forward in the greatness that lies within you and watch the limitations shrink.
Just like the bumblebee, I encourage you to take the limits off and fly anyway!
